Adding recent developments in algae oil to this news, one could almost feel hopeful! I remember seeing Richard Heinberg about 5 years ago, giving a talk on Peak Oil. He predicted that within 5 to 10 years there would be no more airline industry, as fuel would become too expensive. That was one of his rosier predictions!
Things could still get very ugly. Hell, they already are. A sack of groceries costs $35 at Trader Joe's. And the Arctic is one big slushy.
