EFT and the Law of Attraction

I'm going to do a workshop! It's a big step for me. I used to teach parenting workshops way back in the 80's. I loved it. As long as I was well grounded in my material, I would feel an enormous flow of energy sustaining me and it was very much like channeling, in that answers and humor would just come through. I'm hoping for that same sort of experience next month.
So far I've posted an ad in our local weekly paper The Bohemian and another on Gary Craig's EFT website. I've got a small mailing list from the Wellness Fair and I'll be sending out my own brand of spam later today. I'll probably even send something to all my friends and family (so heads up).
I'm still looking for the best spot to have the thing. I thought I had an old church building booked but it fell through. Hey! If you have a good lead, call me!
Here is the copy for my ad on Gary Craig's EFT site:

“The Secret” inspired many people to try deliberate manifestation. Unfortunately a key ingredient was missing! Old buried subconscious beliefs can pollute or cancel out our affirmations and positive thinking. EFT is the solution! Come learn how to ‘tap away’ your emotional baggage, rewire you thoughts and attract the life you really want. Learn how to apply EFT for yourself, your friends, family and the World, fine tune your goals and affirmations and have some fun uncovering “the writing on your walls”. We’ll be doing a lot of tapping and participants can expect a major energetic boost from this fun and intensive workshop. Saturday May 17th 10am to 5pm with a break for lunch. Space is limited, so reserve your spot today!

Man, writing ad copy is challenging. The newspaper was the worst, since every word was 60 cents. Yikes.
It feels good putting myself out there. I've also got an ad in a local health magazine/directory coming out next week. This is careerism!

Glad

I stole this from Neatorama. Here's what they had to say:

Lex 10 created this joyful yet short video with the music of Cream.

I drive a 12 year old Pontiac convertible to my place of work, so I get quite the panoramic view. I was waiting for the light to change across from a storage complex, when I noticed how the end of Cream’s “Glad” matched so beautifully with the tube man on top of the storage complex’s roof as he waved his pneumatic arms and whipped his pneumatic head back in an unbridled expression of glee and air-filled pride.

Emily

We've been spending some quality time lately with The Tumbleweeds--our adopted playgroup. The combination of golden sunny afternoons and extremely cute and photogenic kids (and parents) has forced me back to the land of Photoshop. I've got about a brazillian new photos up on my Flickr site.
cheers.

What if instead of a magical wardrobe, the portal was actually an ice chest? I love this shot because it is just so weird. What were they really doing? I'll let you guess.

Likely Fools

Likely Fools, originally uploaded by Robbi Baba.

Yesterday was the Fool's Parade, up in the town of Occidental. This was our third year and my favorite. Occidental is a tiny little place, but very picturesque. It only takes about 45 minutes to parade along the street, but they have a live band at the end for a street party/dance.
It's really the most Oregon Country Fair event around here, more so than the Harmony Festival I'd say. The line between participant and spectator is pretty thin and there's a spirit of art for art's sake I love.
This year there were three 'bands' along with the Morris Dancers at the rear. The first band was Celtic and had bagpipes and horns with a violin and drums. They were pretty tight.
About half-way through was The Hubbub Club band, which also had an awesome drum section along with horns (even a tuba!) and a xylophone. They were great.
Then there were three or four guys with marching band drums, adding a lot of spirit.
I had Jerry's dragon drum and was playing along with all of them (as best I could). I was the tall guy in the purple tutu.
I've got quite a few photographs over on my Flickr site.

Spring Wellness Fair

Yesterday I set up a little table at a 'Wellness Fair' in Sebastopol, home of all things new age and healing. It was in a Masonic Lodge, which was interesting in and of itself. I had no idea what to expect, so I was quite pleased.
I had a little folding table with a Bali blanket tablecloth. I'd made a sign at Kinkos to offer free mini-sessions. I had my acupuncture doll and a nice handout sheet and two chairs. I wish I'd taken a photo.
The 'fair' went from 11 to 5 and I must have done sessions for at least 20 people. Maybe 25! At times the volume in the room was so high we were practically shouting--which is a little weird when you're dealing with someone's deepest emotional trauma.
I pretty much loved it, though my voice felt strained at times. I would have liked to have booked a few more appointments right there, but I have a feeling I'll be getting some calls. Generally the mini-sessions seemed very effective. One of my first 'clients' was a gal who was having a lot of trouble with the incense and candles stinking up the room. We got her symptoms down from an '8' to a '3' within two minutes. She booked an appointment with me!
It was also good to meet some young and really dynamic practitioners, there to fire up newer practices. The room seemed awash with energy--I felt like I was bobbing around in the ocean.
Today I'm hoping to relax and play with the girls all day.

Celebration of Eostar

Celebration of Eostar, originally uploaded by Robbi Baba.

A warm sunny Easter afternoon. The baskets and the egg hunts were lovely. The girls are playing happily together and Krista and I are attending to our long neglected photos.
Spring is here and the days will be getting longer for three delicious months. I hope you are happy and well.

Song to the Sleeping Stones

Song to the Sleeping Stones, originally uploaded by Robbi Baba.

Krista and I went to a hanging yesterday. Or so we like to jest.
We hung fourteen of her paintings at Sonoma Country Day School, where our friend Steve works.
There were four new (and BIG) paintings. This is the smallest one. All four of them are just awesome. I can't tell which is my favorite. You can see them over on my Flickr site, or eventually on Krista's blog, Undercurrents.
We've been working pretty hard for the past few weeks. The past two days were a bit much. When Krista woke up this morning she said "I don't have to go to my studio today!!".

This is where the show is hanging. It really is a very grand place. If we weren't such radical unschoolers, I'd wish our kids could go here.

This is the foyer where Krista's show is hanging. One of the parents helped us (greatly). I guess the flags are coming down this weekend. They were up for some festival or other. And the symphony will be playing once or twice, in the auditorium through those big oak doors.
After a week or two I'll start planning the reception.

Wish You Were Here

Danny and I had a nice visit the other day. We did some drumming, then fooled around on guitars. We were playing at Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here. I thought this temple would fit the bill--I actually stole it from the internet and don't remember whose it is. Sorry!
